CURRENT STATUS OF KNOWLEDGE AND PREVENTIVE PRACTICES REGARDING OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS AMONG NURSES AT NAM DINH GENERAL HOSPITAL

Objective: To describe the current status of knowledge and preventive practices regarding occupational hazards among nurses at Nam Dinh General Hospital in 2025. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 150 nurses working at Nam Dinh General Hospital from April 2025 to the end of June 2025. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS 20.0 software. Results: Among the nurses, 18.7% had poor knowledge, 38.0% had moderate knowledge, and 43.3% had good knowledge regarding occupational hazards. In terms of practice, 78.7% of nurses achieved adequate preventive practices against occupational hazards. Conclusion: The level of knowledge about occupational hazards among nurses at Nam Dinh General Hospital remains uneven. Although the level of preventive practice is relatively high, some unsafe behaviors are still common. The hospital should strengthen periodic training, innovate training methods, establish a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation system, and promote a culture of occupational safety.
