Initial evaluation of the therapeutic efficacy of electroacupuncture combined with hydrotherapy in patients with blood stasis-type sciatica

Objectives: (1) To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of electroacupuncture combined with hydrotherapy in patients with blood stasis-type sciatica; (2) To monitor the clinical adverse effects of the electroacupuncture-hydrotherapy combination. Methods: A controlled clinical study with a before-and-after comparison of treatment efficacy. Results: The clinical symptoms of blood stasis-type sciatica all showed significant improvement after 14 days of treatment (p < 0.05). The overall treatment outcomes were rated as good in 65.7% of cases and fair in 25.7%; no clinical adverse effects were recorded during the study. Conclusion: The combination of electroacupuncture and hydrotherapy effectively improves the clinical symptoms of blood stasis-type sciatica and is clinically safe.
