Da Nang Journal of Medicine and Pharmacy (DJMP)

The Da Nang Journal of Medicine and Pharmacy (DJMP) accepts and publishes scientific articles in the fields of medicine, pharmacy, and health sciences. To ensure academic quality, transparency, and consistency in scholarly publishing, authors are requested to follow the guidelines below when preparing and submitting manuscripts.

1. Scope and General Requirements

DJMP welcomes scholarly work in the fields of medicine, pharmacy, and health sciences.

Submitted manuscripts must meet the following requirements:

• The manuscript must represent original scholarly work that has not been previously published;
• The manuscript must not be under consideration by another journal or publicly accessible publication platform, either nationally or internationally;
• The manuscript may be written in Vietnamese or English;
• The manuscript must be prepared in Microsoft Word (.docx) format and should be grammatically correct and free of spelling errors;
• Vietnamese professional terminology should be used consistently; translated foreign-language terminology should be accompanied by the original term when first introduced;
• Author names, affiliations, and identifying information must be provided in a separate file from the main manuscript to preserve anonymity during peer review;
• The manuscript should not exceed 4,000 words, excluding tables, figures, and references.
2. Article Types
2.1. Original Article

An Original Article reports the results of original scientific research.

The manuscript should generally follow this sequence:

Introduction → Participants and Methods → Results → Discussion → Conclusion → Recommendations (if applicable) → Acknowledgments (if applicable) → Ethics Statement → Funding → Conflicts of Interest → Author Contributions → Data Availability Statement → References.

The core DJMP manuscript structure extends from the Introduction through the References. The additional end-of-article declarations are included to strengthen transparency in scholarly publishing.

2.2. Case Study

A Case Study describes an individual case or a group of cases with scientific, clinical, practical, or educational significance.

In addition to an appropriate manuscript structure, authors must ensure that:

• Written consent has been obtained from the patient or legally authorized representative;
• All patient-identifying information has been appropriately anonymized;
• Applicable requirements for biomedical research ethics have been followed.
2.3. Review Article

DJMP accepts the following three types of review articles:

a) Narrative Review

A synthesis and critical analysis of published literature based on the authors’ scholarly approach.

b) Systematic Review

A review conducted according to a rigorous and reproducible scientific methodology. Authors are encouraged to follow PRISMA.

c) Scoping Review

A review that maps the extent, range, and nature of available evidence. Authors are encouraged to follow the JBI Manual and PRISMA-ScR.

3. Manuscript Structure and Content

Manuscripts should be organized according to the article type and presented clearly, logically, and consistently.

3.1. Introduction

The Introduction should briefly describe the background, research problem, relevant knowledge gap, and rationale for the study. The study objective(s) should be clearly stated at the end of the Introduction.

3.2. Participants and Methods

Authors should provide sufficient methodological information to allow readers to understand and evaluate the study. Where applicable, this section should include:

The principal findings should be presented according to the study objectives. Tables, figures, and charts should be used only when they improve clarity. Authors should avoid repeating in the text all data already presented in tables or figures.

3.4. Discussion

The Discussion should analyze and interpret the principal findings, compare them with relevant studies, and discuss their scientific or practical significance. Where appropriate, authors should clearly describe the strengths and limitations of the study.

3.5. Conclusion

The Conclusion should be concise and directly supported by the study objectives and findings. Conclusions that extend beyond the evidence generated by the study should be avoided.

3.6. Recommendations

Recommendations may be included when the study findings provide an appropriate basis for recommendations related to clinical practice, management, policy, or future research. This section is optional.

4. Declarations

For Original Articles and other applicable article types, the following declarations should be presented before the References section.

4.1. Acknowledgments

Individuals or organizations that contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria may be acknowledged. This section should be included only when applicable.
